What information is required when making a complaint about wildlife disturbance to the DWNP?<\/span><\/path><\/svg><\/div>

The Department requires the complainant\u2019s name, identity card number, telephone number (home or mobile), address, location and time of the incident, as well as the species involved in the disturbance.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

How quickly will action be taken after a complaint is received by PERHILITAN?<\/span><\/path><\/svg><\/div>

PERHILITAN will conduct an investigation and take action within three (3) working days after the complaint is received. However, in most cases, action is taken promptly once the information is received.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

Will I be charged for the services and assistance provided by PERHILITAN in dealing with wildlife disturbances?<\/span><\/path><\/svg><\/div>

No charges will be imposed for any assistance or services provided by PERHILITAN in handling wildlife disturbance issues.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

Is it necessary to report to PERHILITAN if there are many stray cats\/dogs in the housing area?<\/span><\/path><\/svg><\/div>

Stray cats\/dogs fall outside the jurisdiction of PERHILITAN. They fall under the authority of the Local Authorities (PBT). Therefore, such complaints should be directed to the relevant authority.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

What action can we take if monkeys or other wildlife are causing disturbances around our home?<\/span><\/path><\/svg><\/div>

Please contact PERHILITAN at 03-9086 6800 (PERHILITAN Headquarters) or the nearest state PERHILITAN office. Why is the public prohibited from feeding monkeys?<\/span><\/path><\/svg><\/div>

Feeding monkeys alters their behaviour and causes them to rely on humans for food. This reduces their natural fear of humans and may lead to aggressive behaviour when they do not receive food.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

What kind of action does PERHILITAN take in response to complaints about monkeys?<\/span><\/path><\/svg><\/div>

Relocation efforts will be made for monkey groups disturbing residential or agricultural areas. Captured monkeys will be relocated to more suitable and expansive habitats. However, humane culling methods, including shooting, may be applied for aggressive monkeys that have begun attacking humans.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>

Am I allowed to trap or shoot monkeys that damage my crops?<\/span><\/path><\/svg><\/div>

Under Section 54 of the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 [Act 716], individuals may take their own action by trapping or shooting monkeys that damage their crops\u2014only after all reasonable efforts to drive them away have been exhausted. Any action taken must be reported immediately to the nearest PERHILITAN office.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>
